Rejuvenate on a hike!

The star activity of the mountain in summer! Whether you are looking for a family walk for a few short hours or want to embark on a steep trek lasting several days, La Plagne offers an unlimited and varied playground between pine trees, valleys, mountain pastures and a glacier. Backed by the domain of La Plagne, the Vanoise National Park also offers particularly protected landscapes, flora and fauna.

Here are some ideas for hikes among the thousands of hiking possibilities.

For family walkers with children and beginners:

• Carroley lake walk: One of our best spots for a family picnic. Allow 1h30 to go. For amateurs, it is also possible to swim and fish in Lake Carroley.
• Dou du Praz walk: Small mountain trail loop of 5 km easily accessible from Plagne soleil through magical landscapes. There is a presence of marmots for the happiness of the children.
• Bovet reach stroll: You can get there by starting with the Mairiers trail at the start of the bobsleigh singletrack. After about 500m, we follow a small stream for several kilometers.  This stream was dug by the hand of the man in the 13th century and there are more than 80 panels explaining the history and the stakes of this small stream through the centuries.

For more seasoned walkers:

• Ten day hikes to the main peaks of La Plagne.
• Possibility of a 3-day trek with night in a refuge in the Vanoise National Park and of making the grand tour of La Plagne in 5 days.
• Finally, we fell in love with the La Plagne Versant du Soleil hiking trails: There are many hiking routes in Beaufortain, with the possibility of sleeping in a refuge, notably at the Chur refuge or at the Econdu refuge. Sublime landscapes and lakes (like Lac d'Amour).

Relax in the spa and pool!

After a hike, nothing is more pleasant than going to sunbathe by the pool and enjoy exceptional panoramic views.

The outdoor swimming pool at Plagne Bellecôte is heated to 31 degrees. In July and August, slides and water games are installed for the delight of children.

The Belle Plagne Deep Nature Bath & Spa complex offers 1500 sq m dedicated to well-being was a superb superb mountain panorama: The complex is separated into 2 areas: a "family spa" area for the whole family and a "premium SPA" area dedicated to adults and focused on serenity.

Further, but astonishing, the Aquamotion complex in Courchevel (1 hour drive) offers surfing on an artificial wave!

Have fun in mountain biking!

La Plagne offers exceptional terrain for those who want to go mountain biking and cycling with more than 80km of marked mountain bike trails for all levels of biker. There are tracks for all tastes and all temperaments:

• Downhill Montain bike: mainly practiced in the Bike Park, 12 downhill runs ranging from green runs to black runs are offered from the Colorado and Bergerie (Plagne center) and Colosse (Plagne Bellecôte) chairlifts. For the more enthusiastic, embark on the downhill rides of Dré Val ’(red slope) which has a total of 1100 m of negative elevation between Plagne Bellecôte (1923 m altitude) and Aime la Plagne. Shuttles will take you back up.
• Enduro: La Plagne offers 9 biking trails ranging from green to black. All the itineraries can be found in a map guide, available at the Tourist Office.
• Electric: La Plagne has created 10 routes dedicated to electric mountain bikes and fun areas designed for mountain bikes. Banked turns, modules, jumps and slope variations make E-spots a place to have fun going uphill and on the descent.
• Pumptrack: Plagne Bellecôte (10 min by bike) offers a 1300 m² free-access pumptrack. There are 3 courses there: initiation (300 m², length 50 m) and sensation on two tracks, blue and red levels (1000 m², length 200 m).

Take to the skies with the Via Ferrata!

Near the chalet, you will find two Via Ferrata which offer striking landscapes:

• Via Ferrata of Belle Plagne - Les Bourtes: This is a very fun and perfect via ferrata for children. It is equipped with a continuous lifeline system to ensure total safety and offers a monkey bridge and 2 zip-lines over 500 meters in length. Accessible from 1.2m, this Via Ferrata does not require the accompaniment of a mountain guide. Harnesses can be rented from the ski shops in the resort. It is a 30 min walk from Belle Plagne.
• Via Ferrata of Peisey-Vallandry - Les Bettières (45 min by car): this via ferrata is really interesting because it offers three different levels in three parts with loopholes between the three parts. The last part is quite physical, especially in the arms, and requires being in good physical condition. This Via Ferrata does not have a continuous lifeline. It is therefore preferable to be accompanied by a mountain guide. The departure is at the refuge, Porte de Rosuel, at the entrance of the massif of the Vanoise National Park.

Let yourself be rocked with white water sports!

The Tarentaise valley is recognized for its white water sports, in particular for the practice of Rafting, Hydrospeed and Canoe Raft. Over 23 km, between Bourg-Saint-Maurice and Centron, you will find a succession of rapids ending in the beautiful Centron gorges and its Roman bridge straight out of Antiquity! There is an 8 m high jump possible for amateurs.

In summer, try to book your activity for a day when the water is released at the level of the Tignes dam, to multiply the thrills! The nautical base is located in Aime-la-Plagne, just down the road from La Plagne, only 15 km and 20 minutes by car.

You can also practice canyoning with the canyons of Eau Rousse (particularly aquatic) and Pussy (known for its abseiling). Both are located less than 10km from Moutiers and accessible to children from 11 years old upwards.

Find lungs on the trail!

La Plagne is a paradise for lovers of trail running. For 30 years, it has been organizing the 6000D, a legendary alpine trail, of 67km for 3400m (D +).

Twenty permanent routes cross the area of La Plagne, varying in difficulty. A trail map is available at the Tourist Office. Several routes pass through Plagne 1800 and allow you to get started on your run immediately.  

Find all the markers of an orienteering course in a magical environment!

The La Plagne Tourist Office offers a dozen or so orienteering courses free of charge, from blue to black level. It is the favorite activity of our children who have become experts in reading IGN maps.

Pick up your maps and start looking for beacons in the enchanting area of Dou du Praz and in the canyons above Plagne Center. The orienteering courses extend over a distance ranging from 300 m to 5 km.

A treasure hunt (not so simple!) Is also available at the Tourist Office and provides fun for about half a day.

Holidays in the mountains in summer really give you the opportunity to get your fill of activity.

• Climbing: Practice climbing on the rocks of Bourtes or Arpette. You can also set off with a high mountain guide to the assault on Pierra Menta (2714m). For bad weather days, consider training at the climbing wall at Espace Pierre Leroux in Plagne Center or descend into the valley at Aime-La-Plagne to discover Black Alpes, a fun climbing room with more than 500 sq m of blocks ranging from beginner to champion.
• Montain Kart & mountain scooter: La Plagne offers 2 fun experiences of Montain Kart and mountain scooter from the top of the Colorado chairlift. A blue run and a red run await you.
• Cinema: The Plagne Center cinema offers 2 screenings each day. In case of bad weather, additional sessions are added.
• Paragliding: Several paragliding schools are set up in La Plagne and offer you to set off from the resort to reach Aime-La-Plagne in the valley. Unforgettable experiences and breathtaking views of Mont Blanc are guaranteed. For indisviduals 10 years old and up.
• Giant zip line: Super Tyro is a zip line over 600 m long starting from Aime 2000 and going to Plagne Center above more than 150 m of vacuum. Thrills and uncontrolled screams guaranteed.
• Tree climbing: Climb in the trees on a beautiful tree climbing course in Belle Plagne.
• Family survival course: Over a day or two with bivouac and campfire, learn to filter water, build your shelter, read the maps and find your way around. With Guillaume Brun from GB Montagne.
• Night hike and stargazing: leave from Plagne Villages and climb towards the Col de Forcle to observe the stars, and with a little luck, the International Space Station. With Philippe from Espaces Montagnes.
• Water skiing: Join the WamPark water sports center near Albertville (1 hour by road) and enjoy a day of water skiing and wake boarding.
